My daughter's bad dreams

Recently I have gotten engaged and will soon be married. My daughter's father has been in out of jail and only sees her when I make it convenient for him. She loves her dad but I believe that he will hurt her in the long run because of hs selfishness. Last night my daughter woke up crying saying "my daddy is mad at me and he is gonna hit Wiil(my fiance), my daddy is mad at me!" What does this mean??
